The Netherlands has excellent public transportation (OV). The OV-chipkaart is used for all public transport: trains (NS), buses, trams, and metros. You can buy anonymous or personal cards. Always check in (inchecken) when boarding and check out (uitchecken) when leaving!

Study note
Forgetting to check out costs you money! Always check the balance on your card. Consider subscriptions (abonnementen) if you travel regularly - they can save significant money. The NS app shows real-time delays and platform changes. Bikes can go on trains outside rush hours (needs extra ticket).
