DigiD is your digital identity for accessing Dutch government services online. You use DigiD for: taxes (Belastingdienst), health insurance, benefits (toeslagen), UWV, pension, and many more services. You need a BSN (citizen service number) to get DigiD.

Study note
Set up MijnOverheid to receive digital mail from the government - it's faster and more secure than paper. Install the DigiD app for easier login (no SMS codes needed). Never share your DigiD login with others, and beware of phishing emails pretending to be from DigiD or the government.
