Most newcomers to the Netherlands must complete civic integration (inburgering). Under the Wi2021 law, you have 3 years to pass exams at B1 level (or A2 with exemption). The municipality provides a Personal Integration Plan (PIP) and connects you with language schools and guidance.

Take your integration seriously - failing to complete it on time can result in fines and affect your residence permit. The municipality (gemeente) is your main contact point. Use all available support: language buddies, conversation groups, and practice exams. DUO handles exam registration.
