Scoring scale
Staatsexamens Nt2 says Reading and Listening are assessed by computer. Writing and Speaking are assessed by trained assessors, usually by two assessors. You need a score of at least 500 to pass an exam part.

Registration
Staatsexamens Nt2 says registration is through DUO. You can register about 8 weeks before the exam, normally through Mijn DUO with DigiD. If you cannot request DigiD, Staatsexamens Nt2 says there is a way to register without DigiD.
Registration details
- Opening time
- The exam schedule shows the date and time registration opens; Staatsexamens Nt2 notes openings can be at 9.00 or another listed time.
- Multiple components
- You can register for several components at the same time.
- Already registered
- You cannot register for a component if you are already registered for it or are still waiting for the result.
- Availability
- Current availability is checked on DUO; Staatsexamens Nt2 warns that some moments fill before the final registration date.
- Call-up letter
- After registration, DUO sends the exam call-up by email and post with the place and start time.
Payment
Staatsexamens Nt2 currently lists EUR 50 per component for Programma I and II, or EUR 200 for all four components. If you are inburgeringsplichtig, the registration flow can show whether a loan or free attempt applies.
Practical requirements

- Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rijswijk, Rotterdam, Utrecht, and Zwolle are listed by Staatsexamens Nt2.
- Arrival
- Your call-up letter states the time; Staatsexamens Nt2 says to be present half an hour earlier to register.
- ID and call-up
- Bring a valid ID and the DUO call-up letter. You must show ID for each exam part.
- Dictionary
- No dictionary for Listening and Speaking. For Reading and Writing, only the allowed Van Dale Pocketwoordenboek Nederlands als tweede taal (NT2).
- Food and drink
- Staatsexamens Nt2 says you must bring your own food or drink if you want it; drinks must be in a bottle with a cap.
Results
Staatsexamens Nt2 says results are available through Mijn DUO with DigiD and are also sent by email and post. If you do not have DigiD, you receive the result by email and post. The Programma I schedule shows the online result date and says the result is known from 15.00.
